Thanks for the Tasty Treat

donutsGood Sam’s lucky charm, Joanna Puddister, won donuts and coffee for the whole office last week! It was a great break for the staff who work so hard everyday, to make sure low-income families get the help they deserve! Thanks to EJ from Mix 98.7 FM.

A Very Merry Christmas!

A Very Merry Christmas!

christmas_boy200

Good Samaritan is grateful to everyone in the community who donated toys for children who would have otherwise gone without at Christmas. We have truly been blessed by the generosity of donors who made Santa’s job easier.

Of the 460 children we had, Good Samaritan had approximately 320 adopted and unfortunately for the other 140 children, Good Sam had to use “imaginary money,” credit cards, to fill their wishes. If you can help us re-coup this cost to help make a child’s Christmas morning one to remember, we would be truly blessed.

Listen Up! Good Sam needs FOOD!

Listen Up! Good Sam Needs FOOD!

freezer_200Due to the state of the Economy, Good Sam is serving more and more in need. Our supply of meat, veggies and canned goods are extremely limited at this time.

Good Sam serves at least 250 men, women and children a month with groceries through out the length of their emergency. THAT’S A TON OF FOOD!

We need your help to restock our food pantry with meat, veggies, non-perishables and canned goods.  If you or your group would like to help by donating, call us at 601-355-6276 or if you would like to donate monetarily - click the “Donate” Button below.

We had a Scooper Time!

We had a Scooper Time!

Although we did not reach our fundraising goal for the 5th Annual Scooper Bowl Flea Market & All-You-Can-Eat Ice Cream Festival, we still had a fabulous time! Many new shoppers found out about our unique resale store - NUTS - Neat Used Things for Sale.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Blue Cross Blue Shield employees who volunteered their time scooping ice cream, working the concession stand and helping break down the festival. They truly went above and beyond! A thank you also to our friends and family who volunteered, Blue Bell Ice Creamery and the trustees from the Sheriffs Department - we couldn’t have done it without you.
